Aparently I missed the part when the Elephant did its painting.

More Koh Samet

We took these photos on the last day.

On the ferry back to the city.Just another candid photo of Lauren. Awkward arm.
There is and endless selection of fresh seafood that you can have BBQ'd right on the spot. Some of the stuff we've only seen on bizzare foods.
One of the nicest beaches on the island!

Fire dancers work our cove all night. Their music of choice is 90's trance anthems. Lots of sandstorm and the launch! made me wanna do the nordic track.
our table on the beach. connect four is a popular drinking game here.

a nice table right over the water where we ate and drank before the sun went down.

the view from our deck

about 40-50 usd during low season will get you a very nice, clean and air conditioned private cabana about 20 steps from the ocean

October Outings

On October 8th we had a faculty retreat to Pattaya, 2 hours south, where the Noongoonch Gardens reside. The gardens are best known for the famous Elephants that paint pictures of themselves and do other rediculous things that elephants should never do. Lauren loves elephants so she asked this one to take a picture.

Is this rediculous or what? Its funny to watch but at the same time very upsetting.

You can buy bananas and give the elephant a fruit for riding the tricycle so well. Those bars infront of the elephants are newly installed because a month ago a small child was killed by one of the elephants. Aparently the kid had a banana, but instead of just giving it to the elephant, he/she teased the giant beast with the piece of fruit. the elephant got very mad, and since there was nothing stopping the elephant from charging and raming the child with its giant trunk, it did.

But its a great show! good for families and small children learning how to ride a tricycle. If the elephant can do it, then no excuses! get on the damn trike!
